Muscat Blue
Reference :
MUSCBLEU1
Young grafted grapevine ready to bear fruits sold in 3 Litres container. About 70 cm tall. Rootstock: SO4.
A Swiss grapevine giving one of the best table grape outside. It is also wine-made in powerful red muscatel wine in some countries.
This variety grows well outdoors in Belgium, however it needs a good exposure in highland (Ardennes): tying on a wall to the south.
It produces large, airy clusters bearing big berries that are delicious, sweet, sub-acidic with a muscatel taste. The grapes keep for a long time on the vine.
In addition, this vine is resistant to fungal diseases, suitable for organic farming: no pesticide treatment is normally necessary, but with the exception of a little sulfur (which is safe for the environment - see bio ''protection'') in sites where it would be attacked by powdery mildew (it is not in Ardennes).
It also has good resistance to winter frost, estimated at -24 degrees centigrade.
In greenhouse, this vine provides exceptional grapes, better than most of commercially available quality.
